The Siege of Bastogne is broken and the 101st Airborne is clearing the nearby towns of German troops. At Foy, they encounter snipers in the trees and German troops holed up in the buildings. German Volksgrenadier Companies are dug into the town and the woods at the edge of town. The Easy Company of the 506th parachute infantry regiment has been redirected to Foy to help the 101st.
