Prenzlau - 28 October 1806

Historical Background
As the Prussian army fled north and east, Murat was hot on the heels of Prince Hohenlohe’s corps. After a brief clash at Boitzenburg, while in search of supplies, Hoenlohe continued to march toward Prenzlau, with orders to move through the city when he arrived. The Prussians were strung out along the Schönermark road when Murat launched his attack. Lasalle led the charge against the Prussian Grenadiers at the Berlin road entrance to the city. At the same time, Murat sent Beaumont to circle left to catch the end of the Prussian column, while Boussart moved against the center. The French cavalry was upon the Prussians so quickly, that the rear guard was destroyed, and the Prussian column was split in two. Only the very head of the column managed to flee through the city. Demanding surrender, Murat deceived Hohenlohe into believing that Lannes’ Corps was in position to block any further Prussian retreat. Exhausted and demoralized, Hohenlohe requested terms and surrendered his entire corps.

Vittoria Francese 6-1.

A brutal engagement where infantry squares and heavy cavalry fought it out. The scenario ended with a dramatic but futile stand by the Prussian Guardsmen holding open the road to Prenzlau.

Played twice. My Prussians so nearly won, a cavalry charge on the right flank wrecked the French left and a steady withdrawal towards the exit hex left me 5-4 up and a card to get off table for the winning banner. But the French Lt Inf opened up and two units went down in a hail of blue symbols. 6-5 to the ~French! next game was French all the way, 6-1 victors. Again it's a game where the French are expected to win, the fun is being Prussian and trying to win against the odds.

French 6-3 victory. The Prussians attacked in the center but did not do enough damage. The French crushed the Prussian left flank. The Prussians then attempted to exit, but it was too late. French win with a CAV. attack on the Prussian left flank.

Played it twice with a friend exchanging sides ... (while we usually hate this "exchange side VP average system") and French still won 6-3 and 6-2.

I still think that no scenario, even following the historic result, should go over a 75% odds lead!
Come on: 80%, 90% and 100% (like this one) are too much!

So many solutions were possible to balance them while staying historicaly correct!

Hold 3 towns around exit hex, another inf in square and the rest of the units run away off board? :-/

I managed to get two First Strikes and destory 2 LC attacking prussian left flank.
The rest ended pretty quickly 6-4 or 6-5 for French. Easy game for him after that.
But one of the "more enjoyable" Prussian scenarios... I have to say :)

I've got no clue as the Prussians for this one. Any ideas?
