My father, during a part of his national service, was a junior officer caçador in Guinea Bissau. (not the same way of fighting...)

I agree with you Mark !

Wellington at Waterloo said : "I wish my Portuguese Infantry was here...".

Near the Military School of Infantry in Mafra (North of Lisbon), there's a monument dedicated to Portuguese Infantry with a sentence from general Beresford (written in Portuguese) :

" Não ha na Europa Infantaria como a Portuguesa."

" There's no Infantry in Europe like the Portuguese."

I've always wondered why the Portuguese Light Infantry (the Caçadores) are only 3 blocks. Their reputation is very good.
