New Feature: The Interactive C&C Ancients Battle Map is Live!

Hail, Commanders!

I'm posting this to announce a brand-new feature that will completely change how you browse, discover, and select your next game: the Interactive Scenario Map!

Have you ever wondered exactly where Hannibal clashed with the Roman legions, or where Caesar built his legendary siegeworks? We have geolocated over 600 scenarios and plotted them onto a dynamic, real-world map to give you a true geographical perspective of the ancient world.

Here is what you can expect from this massive new update:

  • Epic Roman Banners: No boring standard map pins here! Every battlefield is proudly marked with a custom, immersive red vexillum bearing the golden SPQR.
  • Smart & Dynamic Navigation: The map automatically adapts to what you are looking at. Browsing the main page? You’ll see the entire ancient world. Diving into a specific region or campaign category (like Gaul or Greece)? The map instantly filters and zooms to show only the relevant battles for that area.
  • Historical Hotspots (Clustering): History often repeats itself! If multiple battles or alternate scenarios took place in the exact same location, the map neatly groups them together. Just click the Roman banner to open a scrollable list of all the scenarios fought on that ground, complete with direct links to their details.
  • A Massive Visual Database: With hundreds of scenarios already plotted, it’s the perfect tool for players looking to play geographically linked campaigns or simply wanting to explore the history behind the hexes.

New Scenario: AC41 Segeda (153 BC)

I like the original "X75 Segeda (153 BC)" scenario, but all the special rules made it a bit slow to learn and set up. So I made a simpler version that uses only the standard C&C: Ancients rules — no house rules at all — while keeping the same brutal, chaotic ambush feel.

What I changed:

  • No special rules: Leaders, Warriors, and light troops play exactly as in the core rulebook.
  • 6 Banners to win, keeping the game tight and fast (about 45–60 minutes).
  • Forest hexes break up the Roman march column: the vanguard is exposed and the Heavy Infantry is stuck at the back, so Line Command cards are hard for the Romans to use.
  • It's a good scenario to learn how to use the Warriors' shock charge.

It's a very one-sided, thematic game: the Celtiberians (5 cards, Move First ) have to cash in their early shock advantage fast, while the Romans (4 cards) scramble to form a line before their center collapses.
