Round 7 Aspern
toganalper (Austrian ) 16 banners won : 83 blocks lost

The fighting started in front of Essing and near Aspern. For a long time the Austrians pushed very strong on the flanks while the center waited the outcome. The initial push of the Austrians was quite successful and they established some foothold in the villages. There was a long struggle around Aspern and the city changed hands several times. Then the reqion stand still in a stalemate. On the right the Austrians managed to gain Essing and the Granary. When French called their Old and Young Guard to action the Austrian center responded with a forward move and the CU units of the center were able to kill just enough in the center to win the game. French moved back to regroup and attack on another day.



I got disconnected a couple of times so my log is not good Hawkmoon just posted our gamelog.

Round 3 EPIC09 Sorauren (28 July 1813)
Gileforn (French) 9 banners, 63 Blocks lost
Mark McG (Anglo-Porto-Spanish) 15 banners, 49 blocks lost

French had a hard slog on their right, but in the end successive Forced Marches and Bayonet charges cleared the Brits from this flank.
In contrast, the French had an easy time on the Left, bringing up cavalry and artillery until an ill advised LGM up next to Spanish Hill was met with Cold Steel. Even the Spanish took a banner here.
In the centre, virtually nothing happened except to supply troops to the French Right.

EPIC04 Aspern-Essling (21 May 1809)

Kfan (Austrians) 4 banners, 62 BL

Gileforn (French) 16 (12+4) banners, 28BL

Austrians rush on the first turn was very dangerous. All French strategy goes away because, it was needed to protect flanks. The first wave was stoped, but second began. French troops fought well, Also cavalery made 4 attacks on alone leaders with zero result. They were very quick. Step by step French got a good situation on their flanks and finished all with bayonnete charge and melee attacks.
