Round 3 Corunna, Game 2

John (French):6  Ben (British): 5

This time a vey tenacious game for both sides with almost all of the fighting in the centre. I managed to break a strong infantry attack in the centre, greatly bruising the GG who retreated . I counterattacked with 2 forced march cards and one bayonet attack. I initially focused half of my attack on the British artillery which had an attached leader, this proved very costly for me in battle back but finally I eliminated both just in time to win the battle. Thanks for the game, Ben.

Good game, John. In retrospect, my foray into the center wasn't a good move, as you countered it well with your elan card. I also realized that I should have burned a tactician card to move Moore into the hex with the full-strength light infantry on my last move rather than leave him with the artillery unit with just one block remaining. When you attacked and eliminated my artillery from behind and cut off his escape route, it forced him to try to retreat through your units, which produced the game-winning flag.

I did not perform well in this tournament, going 1-5, but most of the games were fairly close and I had fun. I hope others did too, and we can do it again sometime.

It was really close Ben, we both made some mistakes (I left weak units in firing  range, for example) and had mixed luck with the dice. I enjoyed all my games and thank you for organising the tournament. I will definitely take part again.

The Dice Bot only rolled Blues this game.  pretty weird.
Carl didn't get the ForceMarch/BayonetCharges he needed.

Round 2: battle of Vimiero.

Allies: Greg Ottoman, 5 banners
French: David Horts, 6 banners

It was a tough match, with an early hard allied infantry charge on their left wing that did not end happily... The allies continued their attack on the right and later in the middle, but the french got the luck on their side, and slowly managed to kill british units until the 6th banner.

Round 2 Battle 2 Vimiero

Allies David Horts 4 banners

French Greg Ottoman 6 banners

A hard battle with most of the action and the conclusion on the right flank. The Cavalry was not effective on either side, and the infantry won the day for the French.

Round 3 - Corunna

Game 1
S. Fatemi (British) - 6 medals
Justin (French) - 5 medals

French plowed straight up the middle on the first turn of the game but was ultimately rebuffed. I had the cards to be aggressive and I did it as much as possible. Unfortunately, the Brits had the cards to answer me at every turn. By the end of the game we had each rolled for the win multiple times. Tense and fun match.

Game 2
Justin (British) - 6 medals
S. Fatemi (French) - 4 medals

French were more cautious in this one and did a lot of damage with their grand battery. Of my 8 remaining infantry units at the end of the game, 7 were at 1 or 2 figures. This one looked like a blow out win for the Brits early on but I was too damaged (had two rally cards and recovered exactly 2 figures total) to make a real assault. It then turned into a slog. I was finally able to move two units on my left across the river and take out two French units for the win.

Gonzo (French) defeats Reynaud (Allies) 6-0
Early scouts stack French hand with 2 Bayonet charges and 2 inf fire first, blowing up the Allied left.  3 Cav charges and break the square gets last 2 medals on other flank.  French had three 4 hit rolls during game.  Reynaud did best he could against my excellent cards and dice and took game with grace.  Thanks buddy.
