As I understood Prof X vs ympytyar did not take place due to the fact that ympytyar does not know English. I honestly do not understand why there was such a big problem, because there is A Google Translator. Therefore, I suggest to the organizer to put both a technical defeat, but not to throw out of the tournament. Maybe this will make the team next time find a common language ;)

Game 1
Cavie (Dan) - Indian - 6 Banners won
SDuke (Steve) - Seluecid - 4 Banners won

Game 2
Cavie (Dan) - Sleuecid - 6 Banners won
SDuke (Steve - Indian - 4 Banners won

Two well played games with the dice favoring my side both times giving me the 2 banner edge each time. First game involved quite a bit of good shooting (dice rolls) for the Indian side at the beginning. Steve fought back hard and got a couple of banners from doing so. Second game had an interesting mid game where Steve (on the Indian side this time) made a great move with his Mounted Charge but got the short end of the dice for a second time.

Round 2 - Indus

Game 1
g1ul10 (Seleucid) 6 - MarkMcG (Indian) 4

Game 2
g1ul10 (Indian) 6 - MarkMcG (Seleucid) 4

Game 1

The usual arrows from the Indians start the game, soon followed by an elephant charge that gets bounced and generates more damage through rampage than the actual attack. Seleucids move light inf to cover the line of heavy inf while Indians try to attack with light cavs on their right flank. The death of the elephant by Seleucid projectiles put Maurya in a sort of combat frenzy. Leading a heavy inf, with two successive DTs he cuts the Seleucid army like butter, eliminating one aux and one heavy inf, but loses his unit a moment after, by a combined attack of Selecuid elephants and medium cav, finally escaping the slaughter and joining a bow armed aux. At this point the game is 2-2 and Indians enter in sniper mode, rolling 5 green in a row against poor Seleucid skirmishers, definitely not used to such a precision. The returning fire is quite effective too. Emboldened by the excellent job of their archers. Indians try an attack with their chariots. Seleucid units survive thanks to evasion and counter with medium cavs and elephant, eliminating one chariot unit and Maurya himself. Indians, however, are not short of initiative and reiterate with a MC that eliminates the Sleucid medium cav and one aux, but an Indian medium cav is pulverized when attacking Seleucus heavy unit. The game is 4-5 for the Seleucids that with a CoS on an oddly positioned Indian light cav win the battle.

Game 2

Indians open by moving the bow aux and firing some arrows while Seleucids reply by firing in response and repositioning their archers in front of the heavies. Acknowledging the smart move of their enemies, Indians do the same and move their skirmishers near the Seleucid line. A sequence of skirmishes follows in the center section among light troops and auxilia but when Seleucus manages to bring his heavies into the fray, his soldiers get the better hand and easily destroy a couple of aux units. Game is 2-0 for the Seleucids. In the meantime a couple of Indian medium cav slip unnoticed behind the lines toward their right flank where enemy light units sit quietly thinking their contribution to the battle is over. Exploiting the local superiority in cavalry, the Indians try to harass these units. They lose one light cavs in a failed encirclement but eliminate one enemy unit. The game is 3-1 for the Seleucid and this is when the nameless Indian charioted leader decide his moment of glory has come. Supported by light cavs, he encircles an advanced Seleucid medium cav destroying the unit and killing the evading leader. Game is 3-3 and everything can still happen. An ineffective advance of Seleucid heavies in the center is followed by a similarly ineffective Indian cavalry attack on the right. The Seleucids light units are repositioned and fire, but two light units remain dangerously near their side of the map. The Indiam mediuam cavs see the opportunity and attack for a couple of medals. The Seleucid reaction by one aux and one light kills one medium cav. They prepare to kill the second when a lucky FT by the last standing Indian medium cav earns Maurya the victory.

First game: Polonus (Mauryan) - Stanislav(Seleucids) 6-4 . Light cavalry action involved heavy losses on one of HI units, So it must have been withdrawn. Counterfire by archers was not as successfull . Charge of elephants decimated another HI unit and Elephants were destroyed, just like one of horse javeliners unit after Line Command play and HI attack by HI. So 2-0 for Seleucids, Next Mauryan played Double Time for their HI with leader, Seleucid HI which suffered against elephants was destroyed (1-2) and in BC against Greek HI taken from behind they achieved no hits. In BB one hit and two flags - both not ignored. Seleucids moved mounted units from right flank preparing Mounted Charge and fired LIA at LC with one hit. In answer Mauryan attacked with chariots and HI. LC fired at archers who retreated (it was a fault because of negating support for Auxilia and Elephants units). Auxilia was destroyed in 2 consecutive attacks by chariot (2-2), HI attacked Greek HI again with 3 hits and suffered 2 hits in BB. Second chariot destroyed HI (3-2). Now came Mounted Charge from Seleucus side. Frst elephants attacked exhausted Mauryan HI with Leader, but Mauryan played FS and destroyed Elephant (4-2). MC with the leader destroyed LC with no retreat possibility and attacked with success in BC Mauryan HI (4-4). But the last word came from Mauryan. Leader saved from HI unit mobilized MC, Chariots cut off the retreat path of Greek MC with a Leader. Attacking Indian MC get 2 flags and destroyed Greek MC (5-4). Leader was saved in the combat but must escape through chariots and was killed (6-4)
Second Game Stanislav (Mauryan) - Polonus(Seleucids) 3-6. This time Seleucus withdrew HI withot losses and screened it by light forces who forced enemy LC to retreat. moving and shooting by Greek archers were impressive. Mauryan lost one LC and one LI in retreat implicated by archers and auxilia fire (0-2). Seleucids formed battle line moving HI to the center behind light units. Mounted units were moved behind the main line to fforl the right flank. Mauryan advanced with Archers Auxilia and light forces on this flank begun to fire each other. Now Seleucids tried to prepare attack of elephants and cavalry but Darken the Sky Card let Mauryan to destroy MC and Elephants also suffered one hit (2-1). Then came attack with elephants and one HI at Auxilia but with moderate losses (one hit each). Mauryan couterattacked with chariots. One chariot was destroyed by HI (3-1) but second broke Seleucid phalanx (3-2) and tried for its own miserable fate to attack lone block of elephant. Elephants ignored all hits and flag and destroyed chariot (4-2). Unfortunately Seleucids have no card to attack with Elephant in last charge but advanced and fired in the center. Mauryan responsed with Coordinated Advance and charged with Elephant at HI who came to the front. HI was not broken and repelled Mauryan Elephants (2 hits against 1). On Mauryan left Auxilia fired and destroyed Elephant (4-3). Indian Elephant also was destroyed, but with arrows of Cretan archers (5-3). In the next activation Indian tried to fire on their left but answer of Greek light forces was more impressive. One of the Auxilia units suffered 3 hits from fire and Mauryan tried to attack last time with the desperate cavalry in the center attack against HI. Luckily Hi was rallied just before so Indian cavalry didn't broke phalanx and died with honour (6-3).

Round 2 - Indus

Game 1
BrentS (Seleucid) 6 - gottoman (Indian) 2

Game 2
BrentS (Indian) 6 - gottoman (Seleucid) 2

Game 1

The Indians advanced their heavies early and I was forced to consolidate my line, expecting an elephant and chariot charge. The Indian advance left an unsupported Light Cav exposed in front of their line without a retreat path and a lucky 1 die bow shot scored the flag that killed it. Sure enough the chariots and elephant went for me (with no Mounted Charge, thank Ares). They traded an elephant and chariot for two of my Heavy Infantry (a good exchange) but their assault left a 1 block chariot with leader stranded and I was able to cut off its retreat path and force a leader escape kill, despite his First Strike. The Indians threw caution to the wind and went in with their Medium Cav, hoping to break what was left of my centre but a supported Auxilia held firm and killed an MC on battle back for the last banner.

Game 2

I was able to use an Order Light and Line Command to get my Bow Auxilia up and across the river but they were immediately threatened by a Line Command Seleucid advance into Double Time range (which I was pretty sure was to follow). I had bugger all to order the centre except for an Order 2 which reattached a leader to my Bow Auxilia on the left. Just in time as the expected Double Time threw the Seleucid heavies against my outclassed Auxilia, killing one and reducing another to 1 block while taking no damage themselves. I pulled my Auxilia back into the river and out of range close combat range, but still able to fire on his heavies, where they caused some lucky damage. The Seleucids then advanced their Elephant and Medium Cav, signalling a Mounted Charge, which sure enough followed, but the Elephant failed and was killed on battle back by my supported Auxilia, while a Heavy Chariot survived the Medium Cav’s charge and knocked it down to 1 block and a retreat on battle back….but still in range of one of my own Medium Cav who was able to meet a detached leader there with an order 2 Centre and kill both it and the leader. The Seleucid Heavy infantry were still formed and intact and pushed forward against my vulnerable centre of chariots and cav camped near my baseline, killing one chariot. MFM let me pick off one his depleted Heavies. My advance Medium Cav was forced to return to support my pinned line, which allowed me to use a Leadership card to send my Heavy Infantry, Elephant and cavalry against his last 2 Heavies for kills for the last 2 banners.

Interesting scenario and two fun games, thanks Greg.

Round 2 toganalper vs stormwalker

Match 1
toganalper (Indian): 4 banners
stormwalker (Seleucid): 6 banners

The battle began slowly with light units moving and firing at the wings. This was followed by an extended period of clashes in the center between our heavy units. But in the end the battle was decided by very resilient light units.

Match 2
toganalper (Seleucid): 6 banners
stormwalker (Indian): 4 banners

The result suggests that this was a very similar battle. As the highlights of this match one may consider the well-played First Strike and I am Spartacus cards, which resulted in heavy losses on both sides.

Many thanks to toganalper for playing!

Battles are checked and resolved one ordered unit at a time, in the sequence of your choice. You must announce and resolve one unit’s battle entirely, before beginning the next one.
www.commandsandcolors.net/ancients/the-g...me/86-09-battle.html

so I would say the latter, resolve each unit's battles entirely before beginning the next unit. The precedent here is Bonus Combat after Momentum Advance, which must be resolved immediately.

OK - just saw the note above about Aux being treated as Aux for all purposes except having a range of 3 -that answers my first question.

Looking over the Indus scenario. a question arises: Can the three "bow-armed Auxilia" move 2 hexes and fire, as bowed units do, or are they prevented from firing if they move 2 hexes, as Auxilia units are?
Also an old question I have never seen an answer for, because I keep forgetting to ask:
Darken the Sky – do you fire all units once, then fire them all once again; or do you fire each unit twice before going on to the next one?

Thanks for your responses. I found I had it loaded on Vassal - I just missed it as I was flipping through all he scenarios. Also, the "123" Indus threw me - I don't know where that "123" comes from. If it had said "Indus from Bonus Pack #2," I'd have found it right away.

And in addition, the modules need to be placed in the folder "C&CAncientsv3.3_ext". If there is no such folder, it must be created.

Download the first expansion "CCA Expansion1.vmdx" from the VASSAL module page and install it. The scenario should be there.

scenario 123 Indus (306 BC) - help! I have no idea where this scenario is located. I looked on this site at the downloads and did not see it there. It's not in any of the C&C expansions. Where is it? Thanks. Some urgency here , as I am playing on Tuesday then leaving for 2 weeks on Wednesday (April 18.)
