STRATEGY
- line infantry are the basic regular infantry, and as the name implies,make up the bulk of the line. Generally speaking, they are staunch defenders, firing well from standing, and are best utilised defending terrain like buildings, hills or forest.
- in attack, Line are slow unless you can cross the range from 3 hexes to 1 using commands like Bayonet Charge or Forced March. The French excel at this melee approach, whilst the Austrians cannot. The remainder are essentially equivalent. Line hit on sabers in Close Combat.
- Line infantry are the most diverse of C&C Napoleonics units, each nation has a quirk.
