CAVALRY CHARGE

Issue an order to 4 or fewer CAVALRY or horse artillery units. Ordered cavalry units battle with 1 additional die the entire turn. Ordered guard cavalry battle with 2 additional dice the entire turn. Ordered heavy cavalry units may move 3 hexes and still battle. Horse artillery units may move and battle normally. If you do not have any cavalry or horse artillery units, issue an order to 1 unit of your choice. (3 cards)

FAQs

If I don´t have a cavalry unit and choose the substitute order of one unit, apply the benefit of additional battle dice to this unit also?

No, the single unit, which is ordered with the substitute order, don´t get the benefits of the card and this unit move and battle with his own base rules.

Right, the wording "as noted on the Charge card" reference to this passage on card
"Ordered cavalry units battle with 1 additional die the entire turn."

It does not mean, that the special town / charge rule is also written on card.
On cards are the basic card rules.
And if there are special objects, e.g. towns, which had special exceptions, so you read the special exception at this special object(s).

Imagine we would have 3-4 more such special exceptions (objects, or units) and you would write all on the card

I agree it isn't printed on the Cavalry Charge card, probably due to lack of space.

However, it is comprehensively covered in Note 5 of the Terrain Chart, and it is both battling in, and battling out that the Cavalry Charge modifier does not apply.

The rules states that the additional die is not gained when battling out of a Town AS NOTED ON THE CARD. The card does not note this - so is the card lacking by mistake or are the rules incorrect on this point?
