Round 5. Epic Dresden, Allied attack, Day 1

French, Craterus, 15 banners. 43 blocks lost.
The allies launched an early massive infantry attack in the center. The french seemed to fall back at the first moments, and they got some units killed. But at the end of this first struggle, the austrian had lost more infantry units and a leader. Not vey later, the cavalry went on to help their comrades. They did a good job: one of the objectives for the allies was nearer: to weaken the strong french artillery positions. One of the redoubts was lost, and the other was not at its best.
Simultaneously, the allied right flank was intending to advance but the cannons could maintain the pressure a long time... until all infantry units decided that was enough and destroyed everything french staying there... Several redoubts were conquered by the combined russian and prussian attack, and the towns were near to fall... Even so, the losses on the allied army were very important. The battle could easily had been won by the allies, but happened that he french had been doing some little skirmisses in their right flank, which had been very still during the battle. At the end, they took advantage of this,and killed the final banners on that section to end a battle that was slipping away from them.
