I suspect that I have been looking for a game like this for a long time!

I enjoy gaming, running, reading, history, fencing.

I am also a part of a group of ~8-10 folk who participate in a yearly extremely complex game.

I will be writing the game for 2020 ( the honor migrate via a complex byzantine algorithm)

I intend to use this most excellent game as my army combat system and am looking for both help with that and just the fun of getting to know you folk and satisfy my Napoleonic itch.

I think I have uploaded Vassal but have yet to find a mentor ....
In my solo play -- I find the French always win (unless I Wellington is around -- I am sure this will change as soon as I play someone else live ( esp. if I take the French ) I am looking forward to this educational humiliation and am sure it will broaden my horizons.

I also want to learn how to use Vasasl because even in the solatarie there are features that baffle me.

I am not sure I know how to really use Vassal yet -- when I hit
"Look for a game on line "
I get a scene that has "main room" in it and I am "in" the room by real name
( Blake -Although I tried to use Faramir Squirell as my vassal name )
I can write a message in a message line there but so far no one has responded -- I am not sure if it is even seen ?

I have been able to open up a module and move things around play a turn or two solitaire ... so I think I am on the right track ....

When Vassal asks for your real name, you should enter Faramir Squirrell, not Blake. Though didn't the Dixie Chicks sing a song about a squirrel having to die
