Anybody Fancy Bussaco (Reynier) This Saturday 0930 GMT ?

Hi who ever might be reading.

The other day I was kindly offered a game by Bayernkini and one other whilst looking on VASSAL. Unfortunately I was not expecting such quick offers and being unprepared I still had too much to do in 'real-life' and had to cancel the offer.

This time I am ready. So I'm inviting the first person to post here that would like to play over VASSAL the base set scenario Bussaco (Reyniers Assault) at 0930 hours this Saturday morning coming. I've only branched into the base set and Spanish so far. Therefore I would prefer this scenario as I have a fair grasp of the units abilities. The other nations I do have, but will get familiar with those as time moves on.

Whoever plays needs to be a bit patient. I am fine with the rules but still learning VASSAL and may not be quite as fast as you may like. Things like your shortened terms for speech, or maybe placing the dots for firer and target etc. I also set the game board up as well on the table as I like to use the pieces.

This could be something I'm interested in, I'm a fairly old hand now at C&C Napoleonics I guess, but quite new to Vassal. I think I have the basics but I'm pretty slow! Can't make this Saturday MP but maybe we could arrange something going forward?

Well first of all, I'm in Kent too would you believe? Displaced SE Londoner. However, I am up by Rochester. So if you fancied ftf we could always take turns in travelling. I used to game (sports replays) with a friend in Ramgate so I know its not too mad to travel. Anyway, its generally worth it as ftf is always more fun.

I will let you contact me for when you are free. I am generally available Friday nights, Saturday mornings and afternoons and Monday mornings and afternoons. But can stretch to midweek games by Skype/VASSAL. By waiting for you it'll save me chasing you round as you now have my availability. My email is in the first post, so we can carry this on by email if you prefer, but it looks to me there is a chance for both of us to get some regular games in if we so choose. I've used the C&C VASSAL too and its all fairly simple.

When I saw your reply was there but before reading it I thought "c**p, I've checked in everyday to see if somebody was interested except I didn't after 7am yesterday and now there is one here". I thought I'd missed out ona game for a short moment

Hi Vince, apologies for the delay in replying, I don't check in here as often as I used to.

Well, I'm also a displaced SE Londoner, having moved down here to Dymchurch (TN29 0TD) about 10 years ago. I lost touch with most of my old wargaming friends so play exclusively solo these days. So it would be a pleasure Vince to get to play some games against you
