Commands and Colors Napoleonics
Intercontinental Tournament: 2021
The tournament will use the rules from the base game, with supplemental rules and card decks from the Generals, Marshals and Tacticians expansion- this means using the 90 card command deck and the tactician card deck. Play will be conducted on vassal, or another platform that the players mutually agree to.
Group Stage
The tournament will include four groups, organized geographically. Each group will play a round robin, with each player playing every other opponent in the group twice, switching sides for the rematch.
After the group stage is complete, players will be ranked in each group according to won-lost record, using total point differential as a tie-breaker. Count each game towards the won-lost record, not the combined scores of the two games between each player. Each player will play six games in the group stage. If two players have identical won-lost records and point differential, use the results of the games between the two tied players as a tie-breaker, then point differential of the games between the tied players. If the players are still tied, they should play a tie-breaking game of the same scenario, flipping a coin to pick sides.
Elimination Rounds
In the quarter finals, semifinals, and finals, opponents play the same scenario twice according to the schedule. Winner will be determined by the total point differential from the two games, using the same tie-breaker procedures as described for the group stage.
After the group stage, the top two players from each group will play each other in a quarterfinal matchup. Winners of the quarterfinal round will play in the semifinal round according to seeding, which will be based on won-lost record. Winners of the semifinal will then proceed to the final.
