Sorry, missed the block count and logfile, here it is re-posted. Block count done the old fashioned way but looks correct
Round 1 Reading
Saxons - Renaud 4, blocks lost 31
Vikings - StephenT 8, blocks lost 33
After initial preparation, a rapid melee developed under the city walls, after Saxon double time, Viking counter-attack, foot onslaught, and boars snout. The Vikings got the better of this, with the loss of two saxon units and Aethelred vs 1 loss of Vikings (3-1). There followed missile fire on the flanks as the Vikings gradually advanced their warriors. The Saxon left flank charged the right of the resulting Viking line with Boars Snout, the Vikings counter-attacked, getting the better of the melee despite a ferocious attack by Alfred commanding auxilia that destroyed 1 ½ viking warrior units (7-4). The Vikings on the right centre were now scattered and weakened. Before the Saxons could pick these off, the Vikings were able to destroy a depleted Saxon Auxilia on the left for the final banner 8-4.

VIK04 Basing 871 [Vikings Mini Tournament - Round Three
Viking(A) 5 vs Saxon(rjvonline) 4
26 block loss vs 26

A 3 hours long battle that could have gone either way easily.
Vikings were trying hard to advance against harassing fire and local counterattacks by Saxon light troops (1-1).
Æthelred launched a deadly attack that shattered the Viking Right flank (1-3). Which in turn opened up a possibility for the Norsemen to try to break through the Center with Boar's Snout. Saxon counterattack was gaining momentum, but the Vikings laid a deadly Ambush(2-4). Heavy fighting ensued in and around the Saxon camp (3-4). After the Saxons rallied they launched an attack. A Viking medium infantry took the brunt of the attack but fought back hard before being pushed back. Æthelred advanced bravely threatening to break the northern shieldwall but was unable to get through a Norse chieftain and his retinue. Viking counterattack led by Halfdan secured a hard-fought victory (5-4).

Round 3 - VIK04 Basing
Mickel K (Saxons) 2 banners, 26 blocks lost
Mark McG (Vikings) 5 banners, 18 blocks lost

not 3 hours.. 45-50 minutes.
Saxons took up defensive positions in the trees, and the Vikings struggled a bit (because I had First Strike & Ambush in a 4 card hand), but a Foot Onslaught put the heavy (Ax) hitters through the centre and into the Saxon line. Halfdan did a magnificent defense when surrounded, building a pile of Saxon dead.

I've noticed the Inspired Action tokens have made me more carefree about maintaining support.

Round 3 - VIK04 Basing
John of York (Saxons) 5 banners, 18 blocks lost
scipio1zama (Vikings) 2 banners, 22 blocks lost

The Vikings advanced on both my left and right and made a final push in the center where my leader held up in the camp with an auxilia infantry. I bagged a medium infantry early on my left. FIRST STRIKE and then CLASH OF SHIELDS helped me destroy two more units before I lost two medium infantries for the loss of one Viking medium infantry. The final Viking attack on the camp ended with the loss of a Viking auxilia infantry when I hit back on last turn. A hard-fought battle as can be seen by my block losses.

VIK05 Marton (Meretum) - 22 March 871 R4 Greg v Mike Stanley
Greg O (Saxons)  6 banners 28 blocks lostMike Stanley 5 banners 26 blocks lost

The Vikings started out smartly with a line command, closing the distance with a fearsome force, then a forward order, then a medium troops.  A fast start for the Viking as the Saxons stood and watched calmly, positioning their leaders for maximum support, then the Saxons struck on the left to draw first blood against the end of the Viking line.   The Viking countered with double time right up the center Like that the battle was on!   The Viking focused on the Saxon medium troops and Saxons took a loss and didn’t do much damage in the battlebacks.  The Saxons replied with a foot onslaught from the right, and the Viking had a first strike waiting.   The battle raged on in the center with both sides taking and receiving damage.  The Viking had a nice ambush to play and the Saxons forgot several times (watching the replay) to roll the third dice for their Aux on battleback, and the times I remembered they missed on the third dice…  The Viking had the Saxon’s right where they wanted them, but couldn’t gain that last banner, while the Saxons struck hard on the left, albeit with light units to destroy two Warriors and win a come from behind victory.

Round 1
Reading
scipiozama (Vikings) 7 banners won : 38 blocks lost
toganalper (saxons) ( banners won : 26 blocks lost

Funny enough it was vert similar to the actual battle where I lost the Athelred. At one point it was 7 to 1 for saxons but the tide turned and we got really close at 7:7. The saxons were able to get the Lb running for cover by long range bow shots to end the game.

Thanks to Mikr for the great time.

Round #

Saxon Player (tognalper) - 2 banners won, 21 blocks lost

Viking Player (Gonzo) - 5 banners won, 12 blocks lost

Vikings used Redeploy, Double time, Boar's Head, and Command right to through the HI and MI against Aethelred on the Saxon left. Saxons respond with 2 counterattacks. The Saxon Aux fought bravely but just not as many dice. A Viking First Strike was especially galling avoiding 4 dice.
Thanks to Samim for a fun match. Lots of manuever and tight situations.

Round #6

gottoman (Saxons) - 3 banners won, 22 blocks lost

gonzo (Vikings) - 6 banners won, 20 blocks lost

Vikings redeploy from center to right, defeat Aethelred's left wing, destroy gate and enter
Rochester and destroy another gate. Dice definitely helped the Vikings out. Thanks to Greg for a good game. Feel better buddy.

Round #1

Grerg O (Saxons) - 8 banners won, 19 blocks lost

alecrespi (Vikings) - 4 banners won, 32 blocks lost

This was a hard battle for the Vikings, the Saxon had the initial position and great cards to push.   The Saxon hit on the left, eliminating the two lead Vikng units, then hit on the right, eliminating the two Vikings there.   The battle began in the center, and the Saxons pushed the count to 7 to 0 when a Viking Double Time charge racked up 4 banners.  The Saxons ended it with a Boar's Snout.

Round #7
Englefeld (Dec 870AD)

EZPickins (Viking) 4 banners 17 blocks lost
Gottoman (Saxon) 3 banners 19 blocks lost

The Vikings crossed the river and the Saxons came down off the hills to engage. Back and forth battle at the river's edge where the Saxons ambushed and killed a full strength medium infantry as it was poised to eliminate a measly one strength unit. Saxons seemed to have the momentum when the Vikings attacked on the right and turned it around. This was a really fun game and Greg came so close.
