The latest news from Ancients website.
Hi guys,
I've just added a new TAG named "Playable with" that contains one value only: Base Game.
This TAG will be useful to find all scenarios playable with base game only. The trick will be to use Roman/Carthaginian units instead of original ones.
I've used "earache" Excel file to find scenarios that fit this value (link to BGG file). Sadly this will cover Official Scenario only.
To assign this TAG to all other scenarios I really do need "unit list" for each of them... maybe inside an Excel file (similar to that one) or even adding lines to that file.
Is there anyone interested in helping me out with this issue?
Please let me know in the forum and/or over BGG.
Grazie
Alessandro
And here it comes the "Summer Gift": more scenarios about Sicilian and Peloponnesian Wars.

Hi guys,
thanking our user Mark McG for pointing this forgetfulness, I've just updated EPIC Ancients II rules.
You can find it inside Exp#5 page and also in a direct link in Rules menu on the left side (immediately below Epic Ancients).
Hi guys, with kind permission from Rodger B. MacGowan, I've just published 2 new EPIC maps taken from C3i Magazines #25.
The Battle of Adrianople, 378, is one of the more decisive battles of the late empire, sometimes mistakenly called the “beginning of the end of the Empire.”
While its effects are well known, its details are surprisingly vague. We can be confident that the battle started before the Romans had their army entirely ready, due to an impatient subordinate commander, but reports vary on whether this happened on the right or the left flank! Perhaps the details are murky because so many of the Roman leaders died, including the emperor himself. What we do know is that the Romans blundered their way into the fight.
We therefore present two Commands & Colors: Ancients interpretations of this Epic historical battle for your gaming pleasure.
Richard Borg & Kevin Duke.

I’ve started this site on June 2008, full with enthusiasm for the great game I discovered in Commands and Colors: Ancients.
I saw some fragmented informations on the web and I tried to group them all and share results with all other fans.
There has been some hard months behind both “website building” (graphic, structures, layouts, etc.) and “scenario grouping” (map pictures, scenario info, historical background).
I also wanted to create a forum to share ideas, create comments for each scenarios... and after some time I’ve also added scenario statistics and results.
Our map database is full with all original scenarios (thanks to GMT Games for allowing its publishing) but also with loads of fan created scenarios: maps archived reached a total count of 503 scenarios, and I think we can claim is the biggest onlinre resource for this great game ever.
In late 2008, as someone recalls, we’ve also suffered an online “website attack” that hacked some core files and also forced me to roll back using previous website backup.
By now the site received more than 150.000 visits with a total pageviews of 1.160.000 (Yes! More than a million). Thanks to you all.
And here we are to the painful part.
Unfortunately, like every year, operating costs have increased.
My own finances are still able to deal with the increases but in terms of austerity (a very fashionable term nowadays) something must be reasonably cut or otherwise reduced.
In order to keep commandsandcolors.net/ancients webiste online and running I'm here to ask for an effort to all users with whom I shared so far this wonderful adventure that I hope will continue for a long time.
Those who wish, without any obligation, could use PAYPAL form (available on right pane) and make its personal contribution.
Alessandro Crespi thanks everyone in advance for taking the time to read this sad but necessary announcement.
Take care and have some nice Christmas Holidays!

Hey there commandsandcolors.net/ancients users,
Work on site is getting harder day by day, it was therefore necessary to separate competences to better manage both forum and site.
To achieve the goal I asked, and community immediately replied. Phill kindly offered his help.
I would like to introduce our first official Moderator for the forum, Freeloading Phill.
For those that don't know what a moderator does, Phill will be assisting with general forum management, making sure threads are in the appropriate sections, banning those pesky spammers, enforcing forum rules, and helping us get everything organized a little better so the forums can provide more value to us all. Essentially it's a little bit like a police officer, but instead of going to jail, you can get banned if you're naughty or post links to warez, etc. So be good!
Please keep in mind that Phill is neither a commandsandcolors.net/ancients employee nor a Support Technician, so please do not bother him with technical inquiries and questions. Please direct those to the Support Requests sub-forum or the Contact Us form. He will help out here and there when he can (and as he wishes), but his purpose here is, at least in the role as moderator, to help us out by moderating, so please keep that in mind.
Everyone please treat him as if he were your friendly neighborhood beat cop, and we should be all good.
A big thanks to Phill for offering to help out!
If there is someone else interested in supporting us, please apply for this role in the forum.
Thank you everyone.
Alessandro - commandsandcolors.net/ancients Admin
