Crazy game - the dice - especially in range combat - was so hot that most of the loses were inflicted that way (Pretorians before managed to close the ranks with enemy, were shoot to pieces). It was definitely a one sided game this time.

Game 2
Jarib (Vitellian) 5 banners won
MichalK (Othonian) 3 banner won

That was very tense and close game; Jarib successfully charged on my right, I managed to reposition, hit hard and then... move-fire-move saved the day for Vitellian! They not even escaped but the whole battle swung in Jarib favor in the end.

Thanks for great two games, really enjoyed!

Game 1
Rams1984 (Vitellian) 5 banners won
Azzy (Othonian) 4 banners won

All started well for Othonians they were well organised and strenghtened thier right section. Vitellians were quite aggressive but in vain lost both auxilias and heavy and behind 3-1.Turn 5 Vitellius charged and was lucky to wipe out the full strength heavy along with Titanus which changed things a bit. Turn 8 Vitellians were trailing 3-4, but had slight chance to charge at the lone medium infantry and lone bow, but failed miserably.... Turn 9 Othonians came up with I'am Spartacus, but were able to order only one light unit. which gave vitellius some chance, and finally the Medium Cavalry with tthe leader finished off the lingereing lonely mediums. Loss of Titanus was too much take for Othonians...

This battle could have easilty gone the other way.

Rams1984 (Othonian) 5 banners won

Slow start, it was all firing unitl Turn 8 with zero success for Othonians, turn 8 was when Vitellians Charged on their left and dealt signficant damage on the medium leaving it alone. Angered by this Titanus left his heavy and helped the lone medium destroy a 3 block medium, which started encouraged his troops. But again it was more of reorganising the formation in the next few turns. Until IAS came up on Turn 13 for Othanians, was poor but it was enought deal some damage on the right flank to make it 2-1 for Othonians. Vitellians counter attacked and had much better outcome this time and were able to order 5 units and made it even at 3-3.

Inspired by Titanus show of bravery on the right flank Paliunus charged with his troops on the left. Initial Medium infantry, removed half the auxilias without frightening them, which helped the MC to clean it up, and advance on to the other MC, scored a clean hit, which settled this tense first round.  The MC scored 5/6 which was just enough.

Thanks for both the games, both very intense, and strenous. Got lucky a bit, could have been 2-1 either way  or 1.5 each...

Match 1
soul1st (Vitellian) 5 banners won
Chrispy (Othonian) zero banners won

Both sides attacked mainly on their right. Othonion pushed their MC to far, enabling Vitellian forces to surround and destroy it.
Vitellian was much stronger on their right flank and managed to destroy the Othonian right.

Match 2
Chrispy (Vitellian) 4 banners won
soul1st (Othonian) 5 banners won

A more balanced game. Vitellian attacked left, right and center. In the center there developed a bloody battle, both sides losing units. The Othonian side had more luck with the dice, securing a 5-4 win.

Match 1

John S (Vitellian) # banners won 5

gheintze (Othonian) # banners won 4

Geoff started off with strong cards (17 orders) and the last in that series was DOUBLE TIME. I had countered with two LIGHT TROOPS to try and shield my stronger units. But Geoff quickly killed off two AI on my left. I had to use my LINE COMMAND to order my two HI on my left to try and stop Geoff’s advance there. I reduced two units to 1 block each but lost one HI and shortly another of those units. Luckily before that last HI went down it took out a MI and the score was 1 to 4 against me. I then killed off a lone MI in the center. Things turned when I was able to kill off another MI and HI, but my HI had suffered 3 hits from AMBUSH. I was back in the game, but Geoff was one hit away from closing the game out. Geoff advanced the Praetorian Guard to come within striking range of my 1 block HI. I had to try and win here and moved an MI and my weak HI to hit the Praetorian Guard. My two attacks finished off that unit to win. Whew! I feel I stole one here.

Match 2

gheintze (Vitellian) # banners won 2

John S (Othonian) # banners won 5

I started with FIRST STRIKE, LINE COMMAND and DOUBLE TIME. I would later draw a LEADERSHIP LEFT and another LINE COMMAND. After I had played my second LINE COMMAND, Geoff played CENTER 4 and hit my center line. But the Praetorian Guard killed off a 3 block Mi with FIRST and suffered only 1 hit from a 5d attack and reduced the attacking HI to 2 blocks. I then used DOUBLE TIME to cutoff a MC and kill it. I also killed off the weak HI. Geoff’s rolling was terrible as he only got 1 hit from two 5d BBs.
Then a key battle happened on my left. I moved two HIs, both with Leaders. I had left cards in my hand but no center cards. My first 5d attack on the HI only got 1 hit but my 2d leader check killed the leader. Yea. Until the HI killed off my 4 block HI with its BB and Paulinus was felled. So, leaders were killed in the same battle which is the first time I think I have seen this happen. It was now a 4 to 2 game. My second 5d attack could not kill off the 3 block HI as only 2 hits were scored. Geoff then advanced with some LI and his weak HI. His LI fired off a few shots and one gave me the flag I had hoped for as now I could retreat my HI with Titianus into my left and avoided a 3d attack on that unit. I was able to close the game out in my next turn by finishing off the weak HI. I had the stronger cards and Geoff had card problems.
