OT2021 Fianals results
Let me report on the two exciting games we played with Stanislav during last week!
GAME 1
Michal (Antogonus): 6 Banners, 17 blocks lost
Stanislav (Eumenes): 7 Banners, 29 blocks lost
A game which had two parts. In the first, thanks to my archers (who spooked Elephants) and two Mounted Charges, I kept constant pressure on Stanislav forces, especially on my right wing - which brought really good results and nice lead for Eumenes. However, when the steam run out from Cavalry/Elephants, the plan was to move infantry and attack with Double Time. But then the miracles started to happen. Elephants were of course main reason for this! When I was just planning to finish the game, Stanislav attacked with Elephant on my Medium Cavalry, killed it on evade plus the leader on leader check. What a dramatic turn of events it was and crazy finish to very balanced game!
GAME 2
Michal (Eumenes): 7 Banners, 24 blocks lost
Stanislav (Antogonus): 4 Banners, 25 blocks lost
I did not have high hopes before this game - seeing the initial set-up of Eumenes, with Elephants easily crushing own troops (and Stanislav taking advantage of this), the initial turns were difficult. But then I invested into the green units screen, which not only saved Elephants but also inflicted significant damage. Another crazy twist was the Stanislav's MC attack (with no leader!) on my supported HC - the whole unit was killed! But then the things started to spin for Eumenes, leading to 6-1 result. At this moment a strong counter-attack from Antigonus brings 3 more banners to Stanislav but this is the end - Eumenes himself kills unsupported AUX and wins the game.
SUMMARY:
Two very good games, exciting, close and with unpredictable Elephants behaviours. CCA never fails to amuse me and provides so much fun!
