Sorry, novice questions, not having played a Nappy tournament before. I assume we use the 75 card Command Deck? And if we play non-expansion 5 scenarios, will we be playing with the Tactician deck and Expansion 5 rules for garrisons and artillery batteries?

that is correct, the Green 775 card Command Deck and the Tactician cards for all scenarios.
All rules are in effect, including Garrisons and Grand Battery rules.

....and sorry, just one more question. I notice the Garrison rules were updated in Epic. I assume that's a most recent ruling, rather than specific to Epic and LGB scenarios, and that we'd be using those rules? Not relevant to this scenario, I know, just getting my head around what rules to be clear on so I don't stuff up mid-game.

Correct - use the Exp. 6 Garrison clarifications, though I have never felt the need to use more than the garrison counter, adding the 1 block seems overly complicated.

French were able to position the heavy cavalry for a charge in the center early on. The Cavalry Charge card played turned out far from being decesive. The ensuing mud war in the center was dominated by the French batteries and some combined arms attacks by the decimated cavalry.

Extremely long engagement, with plenty of annoying Vassal issues, including duplicate card entries gone missing from players' hands, and the logfile getting corrupted.
