Perhaps I missed it somewhere, or an restating the obvious, but is the left column Alpha and the right column the beta group? That's what I think is the case, but it's not explicit and may cause confusion.

scipio1zama (Sassanid): 2 Banners and 36 blocks lost

Gonzo (Byzantine): 7 Banners and 17 blocks lost

Byzantines shift right and line command, double time, foot onslaught, and leadrship cards led to the destruction of the Sassanid left flank. Sassanid missile fire very ineffective. Then came battle for the river with Sassanid rolling lots of swords angainst the better armored Byzantines. Thanks to Mike for match, we are both getting used to rules.
