The First Mithridatic War was the first of three military conflicts fought in Greece and Asia Minor between Mithridates VI of Pontus and the Roman Republic. Roman legions commanded by Lucius Cornelius Sulla. Significant battles included the Battle of Chaeronea and the Battle of Orchomenus in 86 BC.
