Game 1
g1ul10 (Sertorian): 6 Banners
GomJabbar (Roman): 5 Banners
The Romans advanced boldly on their right with some success but got themselves over-extended and paid the price. The Roman medium infantry in the center advanced more cautiously and made good progress until the Sertorian heavy got involved. The heavy infantry won the day. On the Roman left very little happened except for some exchange of arrows and sling stones. A darken the sky by the Romans had little impact.
Game 2
GomJabbar (Sertorian): 6 Banners
g1ul10 (Roman): 4 Banners
This time I, as the Sertorians, avoided over-extending and kept my lines intact. The Romans again over-extended on their right and were decimated for it. The Sertorian lights kept their distance and made effective use of their range. On the Roman left, the Sertorian light cav got overzealous running after a retreating light slinger and got trapped by the river and eliminated. Near the end of the battle, the Roman mediums formed tight ranks but left 1 full strength medium without a retreat path and in range of a line of light Sertorians. A Sertorian Line Command allowed 5 lights and a heavy to attack the medium unit with 15 dice. The Roman medium miraculously survived with 1 block left. But on the following Sertorian turn a light bow finished it off for the win.
Thanks, g1ul10 for the games. That was fun. Sorry for the slow-ish play.
