Very close game (11-12) with Pompeian side exiting three units whilst Anthony pressed hard on their centre/right. However, Caesar had crushed their left flank and Pompey's foray into and across the rampart may have wasted valuable time for an exchange that gave the final banner and victory to Caesar.

A question - can only Pompeian HI or MI exit the board, or may other units exit (at no VB benefit, and never to return) ?

For our game, we concluded that other unit types follow the standard rules and can't leave the board.

Another special rule caused a question:
Camps represent the Watch Towers in Caesar fortifications; they have exactly the same features as usual camps
with exception they do not reduce range strength of the units

Camps already don't reduce range strength so we interpreted this as supposed not to reduce close combat strength - having the effect of making the camp into a six-sided rampart. Was this correct?

After last month's opening game in our current season of "Saturday Epics", we assembled again on Vassal/Discord to see if Caesar could resist Pompey at  Dyrrhachium .

It was hard fighting from the start and Pompey's crushing advance on Caesar's half-built ramparts seemed unstoppable. Anthony was able to stem the breakthrough by bold action and the fall of Pompey's lieutenant brought great hope to Caesar's army. Yet, after this dazzling arrival, Anthony's dice became somewhat less generous. Caesar found likewise - having to watch Marcellinus fall whilst he himself was still far from the action. Several times, Pompeian units across the field were able to flee just in time or battled back to good effect at a critical point.

Here we are in the last moments, Pompey advances to seal his victory at 12-8:

The result seems in line with the historical account. Caesar's army is left to hope that the coming scenarios continue to stick to the script!

As with MK01, the scenario was a good one for six players, since the right of the board is secondary, either lacking initial units or subject to a likely general drift towards the left, making these sections a good choice for the Commanders-in-Chief.
