In the first game Romans retreat in a "catenaccio" formation. The Pontus attack with a double-time but the rolls are poor. The Roman reaction is devastating and wins the game. In the second game, the Romans have a more aggressive attitude and attack on the two wings, collecting the necessary VPs there. Chariots were more a liability than an asset.

Thanks to Leo for reminding me of the game... I was missing the deadline In the second game, for some reason, we had to resync so the log file is only partial.

The Romans began with an inspired command on the right, advancing the Legionnaires and eliminating the Pontic Heavy Chariot with an amazing (and lucky) missile attack.
Pontic advanced his center, and then both sides maneuvered on the flanks, resulting in one loss for the Romans but three more for Pontic.
Pontic advanced his center, but the Romans pressed ahead on the right, pushing that flank to the edge of the battlefield. The Pontic Leader Aristion fought bravely there, eliminating one Legionnaire and severely damaging another, before fleeing the field when his Heavy Cavalry died beneath him. Counterattacking the Pontic Heavy Command, the Roman Leader Domitius Calvinus pushed his heavily damaged Legionnaires to force the remaining light units from the battlefield, thus securing victory.
