we must to stop heilberg round because greg when do automatic off ,,the marker can t do clear and end turn button no effect,,,it s a pity
automatic is so long to play and in mannual is bug a lot

Sorry to hear that you and Greg had problems. Greg sent me a couple of log files and these show that somehow the OLD version of the scenario was being used.
I think that one of you was using v2.2, as I don't think cards can be deployed to start a game if you try use an old scenario file from the new module.

To use the scenario file in the new module, start it from within the module itself (published "fan" scenarios are found under the Commands&Colors.net scenario menu). I checked the module and Heilsburg is correctly loaded.

To tell that you are using a compatible scenario, players will notice a new set of icons to the side of the board. If you've joined as an observer, it will look something like the below until the game is started:

If you do not see any leader icons, then the scenario file is not compatible. Scenarios can be converted from v2.2 and all scenarios that I know of have been converted and are pre-loaded in the module.

Once the players are joined to their sides, the player who is to "Move First" should press the DEAL CARDS icon that will appear by their side's leader icon.

Round 4   MM18 Epic Vitoria (21 June 1813) - British Right flank

RiverWanderer (Mark B.): Allies 15  (lost blocks: 67)
Stephen Thompson:  French 12   (lost blocks: 67)

Both sides spent the first part of the game getting into position and trying to mitigate threats from the other's artillery. Whilst the Allies struggled to form an attack with a difficult river crossing, the French had to deal with bringing their artillery forward again from short supply plays.

Once action started it was predominantly ranged combat on the French left and melee around the hill in the river bend. Key moments included a foray of British Heavy Cavalry that neutralised the French artillery in the centre and a powerful French bayonet charge, stunted by a First Strike and follow-up ranged fire.

The final moments saw depleted units on both sides fighting to exhaustion over the French left flank, with the Allies at last daring to move into close combat there. On the opposite flank, the French Line had attacked  (Leader Forward) out of the town and wiped out the approaching British Line in a single attack. In response there, the British used Grand Manoeuvre to bring a full-strength Foot Artillery behind French lines, where it threatened weaker French units, soon claiming an isolated French artillery unit.

Finally, Portuguese Light Infantry were able to gain the heights on the French left to melee a 1 block French line and claim the final two banners for victory, the French suffering their third leader loss of the game.

A long game that we had to play in seven 2 hour sessions. Thank you to Steve for an exciting and challenging game, and for his patience when our first couple of sessions suffered from a glitch in the beta module (now fixed).

Due to the multiple sessions and size of each log file, I have posted only the log for our last session. If there is particular interest, I can make the others available too.

Round 6 MM13 Epic Albuera - 16 May 1811
Player 1 (Mark McG) 6 Banners 60 Blocks lost
Player 2 (ANDRE) 18 Banners, 45 Blocks lost

Allies lost in spades, with the French cavalry slowly smashing the Allied Right. A special shout out to Loy & the Spanish Heavy cavalry that took 2 of the 6 total banners the Allies won.
Allies lost 5 leaders in this match, very careless.

This was the last Epic scenario chosen, and I was quite concerned about the balance and banner requirements. I'm now happy with the 18 banner count, and whilst I suspect it is pro-French, other results show the Allies can win.. but not here....

despite the size of the game we finished this in 2.5 hours

Round 3

Stephen (French) 3 banners, 59 Blocks lost

Gileforn (Allies) 15 banners, 23 Blocks lost

That was a really epic battle. The main fight was on the flanks. Russian troops started to deploy on their left and prepared some atrillery dominance on their right. Heavy cavalry rush on the Russian left brought some banners but cavalry were destroyed. The main place of the next battle was on the French left. Focused Russain troops prepared to fight and French used Bayonette charge to throw them away circling Russian cavalry. But it was Guard cavalry that easily ignore 2 flags. As a result luck wasn't on the french side and their attack stopped by Russian cavalry and canons. French tried to get sucess on the right with attacks of cavalry, but Russian infantry was also lucky and stayed in square under many attacks including shooting. All was finsihed when Russian tanks - Guard Heavy Cavalry was prepared to attack. It totaly destroyed two French battaries and with cavalry charge next turn finish the game. French have done all they can but it was diffciult to change the situation.

Thanks a lot to Stephen for the good game, hope that luck will be better next rounds.

Maxjoezach (French) - 10 banners, 50 blocks

Gileforn (Allies) - 15 banners, 36 blocks

That was a good fight with good French defence and many different kinds attacks by Allies. Right allied flank was a center of attack. Foot artillery was put on the hills near the stream and helped a lotfor control of the flank. The situation on the left flanks of Allies was not so good, but enimerous rnage attacks helped to destroy French infantry possibilities, but also light British infantry was lost with a leader near the river. Cavalry rush was prepared by Allies in the center, but as a result only one artillery was destroyed and all cavalry forces depleted. Totaly a good game with some luck.

Thanks a lot to the French leader :)

Here is a link to the next Beta release of the Epics Vassal module v3 for this tournament.
Use for NEW games (i.e. don't use for games in progress)...

C&CN Epic v3.0a62

This version is further aligned to the live C&C Napoleonics base module (v4).
Update: v3.0a60; fixes a couple of small bugs in the previous release linked from this post.
Update: v3.0a62; allow drag of Tactician Cards below board; improve click-to-Attack (see below*).

*Previous to a62 left-clicking on an Ordered unit would place an Attack marker. It has proven too easy to do this accidentally.
From now on, left-clicking only Orders a piece after Command card play and before combat. This only affects left-click,
the right-click command is always available. Likewise, clicking on an Ordered piece will only place an attack marker once a combat
marker has been placed by some other means OR when an ordered piece has been clicked on twice in succession.
I plan to include this change also in v4.0.3 of the base module.

Friedland

RiverWanderer (Mark) (Allies): 11 Banners, 85 Blocks lost
ANDRE  (French):                    15 Banners, 74 Blocks lost

This quickly became a battle of the flanks, with units (especially Russian) fanning out from the centre to bolster defence against French attacks. The Russian right flank held despite a waste of the Russian GHC but skilful French withdrawals kept their casualties in check. On the other flank, French cavalry gained the upper hand, preparing the way for a final, over-whelming assault that decided the day for the French.

Scenario note: Seemed balanced enough in our game. A Russian right flank leader is unusually exposed to a first-move cavalry change, but Andre proved that it wouldn't necessarily be a target, and in fact it became an obstacle to the Russian response.  The French objectives are a bit far from the action. If other plays back this up, one might look to the standard Vimeiro Epic scenario for a similar objective and fine tune position and VPs based on this. Perhaps balance could be slightly improved by giving the Russians a VP or two if the French are not in occupation of a town hex.

Round 3  CS01 Epic Friedland - 14 June 1807

Mark McG (Allies)  12 Banners  70 Blocks lost
Gonzo (French)  15 Banners, 54 Blocks lost

Initially the Russians drew back, daring the French forwards. With a timid French response, the Russian cavalry went forwards, looking to write down the French cavalry. Mainly it was the Rusian cavalry that was written down, and it then developed into an artillery duel in the centre, which the Russians ultimately won.

The big move of the game was a French forced march in the centre, which angled to their right (Allied left) and this is where the French won the match (nowhere near Friedland). However, with the sudden emptiness in the French centre, the Russian Guard Heavy cavalry went forth and wreaked destruction on the French artillery and curassiers.

A section summary
French left - early Russian cavalry push, followed by stagnation
Centre - clash of cavalry, then artillery duel followed by French infantry march to the right, and Russian Guard cavalry doing good works.
French right - French assault and most of the fighting. French scored 10 banners in theis section.

game log files are v 2.2
