The Autoblinda ('Armored Car') Lince ('Lynx') scout car was an Italian copy of the British Daimler Dingo. It was a lightly armored 4x4 vehicle with a crew of two and armed with a single fixed Breda Modello 38 8 mm machine gun in a forward-facing mount. It could attain 53 mph. Ansaldo built about 250 vehicles between 1943 and 1945. The Italian Social Republic and their German allies employed these cars in Italy and the Balkans for reconnaissance, escort, and internal security; the Germans designated them Panzerspähwagen Lince 202(i).
