The Soviets developed this 37 mm ( L/67) anti-aircraft gun during the late 1930s, and used it extensively during WWII for low- and medium-elevation targets. They also used it occasionally against lightly armoured ground targets. The Soviets produced about 20,000 units betweent 1937 and 1945. It required a crew of eight.
