Side by Side play

Variant to play a double width game, either with 2 players or 2 teams of 2

Side by Side Play
Each turn, the active player plays 2 Command cards, one for the left board (leftmost 3 sections) and one for the right board (rightmost 3 sections). In case of team, Commander plays cards.
A reserve artillery may be played by either or both command cards as per normal rules, but must be placed on respective board
Units may move between boards.
Command card activate only units on their board.
Players may play 1 Combat Card per board
At turn end, player draws 2 Command Cards, and either 2 Combat cards, 4 HQ, or 1 Combat Card and 2 HQ.

I'm not sure that VASSAL would accommodate 4 players, but we could certainly give it a go

I played your board creation with four of my friends yesterday with two boards. This design and creation was absolutely fantastic. You did such a great job!! May I ask, what program did you use to create this scenario? Have you created additional multi-player scenarios? Finally, the attachments you initially posted no longer work, could you post them again or send them to me directly? Really appreciate your talents and willingness to share with the community. I look forward to your response.

the program is VASSAL, which needs an Engine found here

You can then download and run the TGW VASSAL Module
vassalengine.org/wiki/Module:The_Great_War

that module will support the loading of Game save files, and also allows you to create your own scenarios if you wish.
 

this is the only file I have handy, but I'll add more later in the week.

I just tried downloading the attached file from the first post and it worked for me...
May I ask what error message is shown on the screen?

Thanks so much, Mark. I am still struggling with Vassal on my Mac. But I was able to download this PNG of your amazing map. This is so VERY kind of you to locate these and share them with me. My game group will be playing this newest double map this coming Monday. I sincerely can't thank you enough for your generosity, community support, and talent for making maps for this amazing game. I actually sent the owner of Plastic Soldier company an email encouraging them to make the game again and a few photos of our side-by-side game. If you have any more side by side masterpieces I will gladly take them and put them too good use!

Thanks. Got is downloaded as a PNG. Low res, but it will work perfectly. Mark just uploaded a different map that was higher res, and it is BEAUTIFUL. Cant wait to play it.
