Background

"After our perilous retreat on foot back over the hills, we could see that fewer Lannisters were still in pursuit of us. Rather than let ourselves be routed all the way back to the Twins, we instead chose to try to breaking through our enemy's lines. Our force, although small and battered, can still deal the Lannisters a cruel blow if we can cut their army off from the supplies they are receiving from the West.

To manage this, however, we must first forestall these riders. If we fail, they will not only cut us off from our retreat but will certainly report our intentions back to their Lord. This land offers us little in the way of advantage. We must find reserves of speed and strength within ourselves and hope that the Lannisters are as few as we think."

Special Rules

Shallow Water - All river hexes are treated as fords.

Taking Ground - At the end of each round, each player notes the furthest row he currently has at least three units on or past. The point values are at the end of the rows (see battlefield map). Players add these VPs (shown in the shields of their House color) to their VPs.

For example, if a player has two units in the 2-point row and one in a 3-point row, all have at least reached the 2-point row so he scores 2 VP.

Victory

The player with the most victory points at the end of round 6 wins. VPs are awarded as follows:

  • 1 VP for each enemy unit eliminated (immediate) 
  • X VP for taking ground where X equals the point value of the furthest row from the player's side that he has reached with at least three units (round end)
