"Bugger those outlaws. They ride around spreading terror and falsehoods out of devotion to a dead king; one who drove the realm to poverty no less. I am beginning to wonder if they even realize that their defiance is only making matters worse for the people they claim to protect. Because of them we have to resort to feeding off the downtrodden only to continue a war they seem content to fight. And as if that weren't enough, now the men are becoming scared, jumping at every shadow on account of the legends surrounding Dondarrion... even I am becoming quite unnerved by the stories that are spreading.
We're quite a ways north of Harrenhal, but I can't shake the feeling that ghosts prowl these lands. I'm too old to wet the bed over stories of grumkins and Others, but something don't feel right about the tales of old Dondarrion. Four different men have claimed to have killed him, and even more have vouched for his demise. The man has three different graves! But still he is spotted riding with the outlaws, thwarting our raids at every turn. Now, I won't say that the men who claim to witness Dondarrion's presence on the battlefield are the most trustworthy of individuals, but the fear in their eyes is truth enough for me. Something unnatural is afoot, and I care not to be present on the day that the dead fight amongst the living. Hopefully, today is not that day.."
