JR15 Little Ferry - 15 April 1746

Historical Background

A few days before the battle of Culloden, a strong force of Jacobites, under the command of Mackenzie, was sent north in an attempt to recover needed supplies that had been lost during the Skirmish of Tongue. This force arrived too late to be of any assistance and found nothing. The next day, Mackenzie was commanded to return to Inverness. Mackenzie and his officers, however, remained behind at Dunrobin Castle to be entertained by Lady Sutherland, while their men march to Little Ferry. Captain Gray and Sutherland, had concealed their Scottish forces, loyal to the Government, in the hills and as the Jacobites marched away gave the order to attack.
Surprised and without their leaders, and the Jacobites being attacked in the flank, fled towards the ferry. At the end of the day, almost all of the Jacobite officers, including Mackenzie, were captured and their troops scattered. The defeat of the Jacobite contingent denied much needed reinforcements to Charles Stuart, who on the next day was defeated at Culloden.
The stage is set. The battle lines are drawn and you are in command. The rest is history?

I understand this when the target is a unit but are you sure it's the same when it is a lone leader on a building hex ?
It's not really written in the rules when it's a leader.
As said upper, this scenario in this way risks to be quicker to play than to install...

No, as per the FAQ, the "symbol"  means a Unit symbol

Terrain – Buildings (Page 20)
Q: Do we ignore a "symbol hit" (including sabers) on melee into a building hex, or just a "unit symbol hit?
A: GOOD CATCH - THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN CLEARER. THE RULES LEFT OUT A KEY WORD “UNIT” SYMBOL FOR A NUMBER OF TERRAIN FEATURES.
A UNIT ON A BUILDING HEX IGNORES 1 UNIT SYMBOL HIT FROM RANGED AND MELEE COMBAT.
A UNIT ON A FOREST HEX IGNORES 1 UNIT SYMBOL HIT FROM RANGED COMBAT.
A UNIT ON A FIELD WORKS HEX IGNORES 1 UNIT SYMBOL HIT FROM RANGED COMBAT EXCEPT FROM ARTILLERY RANGED COMBAT.
A UNIT ON DIRECTLY BEHIND A STONE FENCE IGNORES 1 UNIT SYMBOL HIT FROM RANGED COMBAT EXCEPT FROM ARTILLERY RANGED COMBAT. (RB)

As Mackenzie located in a building, I suppose that the 1st sword rolled against him in melee combat (or ranged combat) could be ignored.
Am I right ?

it is possible for the Jacobites to lose this scenario on the first turn
