Springfield Scenario (Page 16)
Note: Unfortunately, the combined tile manifest of the Core Game and Expansion 1 is short one LeftTurnout Road / Left-Turnout River Tile. There are two Left-Turnout Road / Left-Turnout River Tiles in
the combined Core Game and Expansion 1 tile manifest. The Springfield Scenario calls for the placement
of two Left-Turnout Road Tiles and one Left-Turnout River Tile

This is a wonderful scenario. The British must elect which side to attack with first and clear the Americans from that part of the river. The Americans must hold on and inflict as much damage as possible because many British units have limited retreat space. When British intentions become clear the Americans can reinforce that sector but it is often a choice of shoot whilst you can or reinforce.

The British concentrated on the Springfield bridge with their cannon and light troops damaging the Continentals at the bridge, allowing for regulars to bayonet their way through. The American survivors held up in Springfield awaiting help. As the British finally stalled in the buildings, the attack shifted to the bridge on the right flank and the Americans broke and ran under withering fire. General Lee joined them in flight. The British lost some Provincial infantry but with both bridges secured, they concentrated on moving up the roads to mass for attacks, whilst withdrawing badly damaged units. The Americans had too few quality units left although their artillery did do some damage. A 9-3 British win, but a closer fight with three surviving British units also left with only 1 block.

9/7 for the Crown after a time that English side was leading 7/1...

Once again 9/7 for the Crown. 3 generals (2 Continentals and one Hessian) fled the battlefield after failed Moral Roll check.
A very interesting scenario indeed.
