Bayonet Attack was created by Holdfast
When playing yesterday the British player threw down Bayonet Attack which allows a two hex move into contact with the bayonet. His movement options were to advance through two clear hexes, which was obviously no problem, or to advance though one clear hex into a wood hex. We were unsure whether such an attack can take place out of a wood hex as it implies movement, as opposed to firing, out of the wood hex. In the event he went through the two clear hexes but it would be helpful to have a definitive view on whether a bayonet attack is allowed out of a wood after moving in that turn.

I don't see a problem with using Bayonet Charge to move into Forest on the 2nd move and then attack. Forest would still reduce the attack by 1 die, but no die lost for moving as per the Bayonet Charge card.

However, I think the unit couldn't Take Ground, because the Forest stops movement

I agree with Mark's analysis. As long as the second hex moved is the forest (if the first it would stop movement) the second allows the attack but at -1 die.
