The six-wheeled Japanese Sumida M.2593 (or Type 91) armored car featured prominently in Japan's war with China in the 1930s. It could operate on roads, or its road wheels could be swaped-out with flanged railway wheels to enable it to travel along rail lines. It had a fully-rotating turret atop its boxy body, containing one 6.5 mm or 7.7 mm machine gun. A crew of six operated the 7-tonne vehicle, which could attain top speeds of 25 mph on roadways and 37 mph on rails. The Ishikawajima Motorcar Factory produced 1,000 examples in 1933.
