One of the most widely-produced British armoured cars of WWII wth 5,400 built, the type entered service in late 1941 and served throughout the war (and beyond). It saw service in reconnaisance roles in North Africa, Western Europe, and Burma. There were six variants, all with fully-rotating turrets; one mounted four 7.92 mm Besa machine guns for anti-aircraft defense, and one featured the tank-gun variant of the US M3 37 mm high-velocity cannon (37 mm Gun M6 (L/56.6)), but most units had one 15 mm and one 7.92 mm Besa machine gun. This unit represents the 37 mm-armed variant, which held three crew. It had a top speed of 50 mph.
