The Japanese F B transport/personnel carrier was specially designed for use in swampy terrain, which the Army initially envisioned as one among other vehicles to increase mechanization and mobility. Its wide track links had rubber floats attached so the vehicle could also cross waterways (powered by a propeller). It was unarmored and carried a crew of 2-3. Japanese industry produced 146 examples beginning in 1935.
