Sir weeks after 13-Day, the 29th infantry Division was still fighting in the hedgerows of Normandy, opposed by the German 352nd &fanny Division. The viral crossroads town of Saint Lo was a key objective to the breakout of Normandy. On July 18, the 29th surprised the greatly weakened 352nd and moved into Saint Lo. The Germans immediately counterattacked. Major Thomas Howie, commander of the 116th Regiment, told his men, "You'll see me in St. Lo!" I played this scenario as American and it was a tough fight. I did manage a minor victory. My oponent was a seasoned veteran gamer. My advice would be , do not try to hold the entire town, defend and fall back to the portion of the board that has the three German reinforcement entry hexes. Keep some infantry loaded, if possible ,to threaten the other two victory point hexes that the Americans can easily take but might forget when they go for one or both of the other victory point hexes. Keep buying reinforcements, you will need them as your losses will be heavy. Use artillary effectively. Do not allow the Americans to control the 5 hex woods on your flank.
