Ah, I missed that part. Thank you Willem!by boersma8
This is what is says in the scenario instructions on commandsandcolors.net:"Due to the need for a large number of Expert Specialization tokens, it might be necessary to leave those squad bases without the token and just assume that every squad without a specialization token has the Expert Specialization. It will then be necessary to mark the squads without any specialization in some way, for example with national control markers or vehicle condition markers. In an exception to the standard rules, squads with the Expert Specialization may transfer figures to or from other squads with the Expert Specialization."https://www.commandsandcolors.net/tideofiron/scenarios/easte...=by boersma8

Here I tried to reorganize all the updated information for this scenario!069 Dash to Dunkirkby Board_Dan
This website is an amazing resource and I use it everyday. Thank you for all the work you have done with it!by Board_Dan
Was trying to setup this scenario which came in the 1A-Games kickstarter booklet and gave up. Does anyone know many expansions are needed for this one?Seems to me you will need 3(!) "Fury of the bear"-expansions for the 18 "Expert"-markers alone, as that expansion has 6 of them, and as far as I can see, they are not included in any other expansion. Also for the vast amount of infantry. Someone mentioned in another thread that there is also a need of Stalingrad expansion for this one but I can't find a reason for that, but might be wrong. Is there any other official scenario that requires several expansions? I know there is a scenario in the designer series book that requires 2 base games.by Board_Dan
Ah I am glad that I found this post. The scenario booklet made me so confused!by Board_Dan
Seems very unlikely this will end in anything else but a drawby Board_Dan

Hey guys! I just wanted to let everyone here know that I have launched a new series of videos on "Tide of Iron" on my YouTube channel. The videos will be posted to the "Tide of Iron: Next Wave" video page since that is the version I am using. However, players of TOI are much more active on the game entry for the old FFG version of TOI, so I just thought I'd let you know here as well! I have done a "How To Play" series and will continue to do a playthrough-video of all the 11 scenarios included in the Next Wave basic game. I hope to see you there!Youtube VideoYoutube Videoby Board_Dan

VPs are awarded only at the end of round 8.by Board_Dan
So you can gain VP from controlling buildings and the bridge. Do you get VP for this each round or is the VP assigned who ever controls the buildings and bridge at the end of round 8?Thank youby Board_Dan

I own and enjoy both, but they feel pretty different at the table.Setup & table presence:Tide of Iron generally takes longer to set up. There are more bits to sort, more scenario-specific components, and the maps tend to feel more “built” rather than “thrown down.”Gameplay vibe (simulation vs. gamey):ToI leans more toward a scenario-driven, somewhat more “grounded” WWII board wargame feel. Positioning, lanes of fire, and the scenario objectives tend to push you into playing more carefully and “realistically.”Company of Heroes feels more like a fast, modern skirmish system inspired by the videogame: punchier pacing, quicker escalation, and more of that “build up → hit timing windows → swing the board” rhythm.Vehicles / tanks:In my experience, ToI gives you more tank gameplay across its scenarios and the pacing often lets vehicles matter for longer stretches of the game. With CoH, I’ve had a lot of games where it ends right around the point where the “big toys” are about to dominate the board—like you’ve just reached that exciting late phase, and then the victory condition triggers.Scenarios & replayability:A big difference for me: ToI is scenario-first. You’re often playing a specific situation with a specific story/goal, and that creates variety beyond “just fight.”CoH is more skirmish-centric in feel—great for “let’s play a match,” but it doesn’t scratch the same itch as scenario-driven historical setups.Maps / variety:CoH can feel more limited in map variety because you’re working within a smaller set of layouts.ToI’s map tile system tends to give you more combinations, and the scenarios make those layouts feel meaningfully different rather than just “another arrangement of terrain.”If I had to pick one:If I get the chance to play either, I’d personally choose Tide of Iron more often—especially if I’m in the mood for a more “WWII scenario” experience. If I want something quicker, more skirmish-y, and more immediately “gamey,” then CoH hits the table.by Board_Dan

Thank you mate! For the commandsandcolors website, is there anyway to sort official from unofficial scenarios? Or any other resource to seperate them manually? I am unsure which are official and which are fan made.
