Kind of a disappointing scenario, in that just as you get into the battle, it is over.
I think the problem is the Victory Condition
The French forces gain 1 Temporary Victory Medal at the start of their turn for each French unit that occupies a German trench hex.
Playing this, the Germans killed 1 unit, the French 2 units, and 4 medals in the Trench. Given the 100% French victory record after 7 games, I think this might be over rewarding teh French and a better regime would be
- French score 1 medal for the having a unit in the 1st Trench line
- French score 1 medal for having a unit in the 2nd Trench line (on the German baseline)
and given the situation depicted in the next scenario (Scenario 56 - Nivelle Offensive (Caronne Afternoon) - 16 April 1917);
- French score 1 medals for each tank that breaksthrough
"Feed the troops on victory"- Gen. Sir John Monash
