Semi-Finals (GAME 1): 006 - Loos (Fight for the Trenches) - 29 September 1915
MichalK (British): 6 Banners won; 21 figures lost
Mark McG (Germans): 4 Banners won; 20 figures lost

Hm, you might wonder why we finished after 6 medals? Because we were 100% sure it is end of scenario - of course, that was false assumption....
But after showing all the cards, etc., there was no way to play further.
The scenario itself is one of more interesting - tense, close combat, a lot of action. It also happened in our game which was surprisingly quick (1h or slightly more). The main British attack concentrated near "The Dump", and after some intense fighting, but bayonets, ambushes, etc. the dump was controlled.
Unfortunately, times Infantry Assault almost pushed British from hard won trenches, but thanks to another ambush they managed to survive.

If all goes well, tomorrow we should play reverse and then we will know who will proceed to finals...

Semi-Finals (GAME 2): 006 - Loos (Fight for the Trenches) - 29 September 1915
MichalK (German): 7 Banners won; 14 figures lost
Mark McG (British): 2 Banners won; 28 figures lost

This time we played correctly, to 7 banners:)
Game started with exchange of fire, then immediate assault of British in centre. "Line Command" by Germans was very cleverly stopped by "Lost Messenger". Unfortunately, the advance was finally well countered by Germans. In addition, the British Bomber was removed from board with nice Combat Card.
The deciding moment was a devastating artillery barrage by Germans - 2 barrages 4 dice each, which were ignoring terrain (do not remember card names now, but this is known combo). Out of 8 dices, 8 went on hexes with units, and 8 scored hit. Unbelievable...

That was more one-sided game then yesterday semi-final but still some movement and fun - surprisingly for TGW. Looking forward to play final with plainscape!

PS. As logs are not accepted, screenshot after last turn:

Finals Round 1 - 007 - Loos (Renewed British Offensive) - 13-14 October 1915
MichalK (German): 5 Banners won; 20 figures lost
plainscape (British): 6 Banners won; 12 figures lost

The British initial shelling in dead man's land created two large gaps that the infantry could exploit in the left flank and center. After making a baby step into the shelled area, the British assaulted the middle and later brought up reinforcements from the side. After withstanding machine gun fire and counter attacks, they held their position and squeaked out a victory in the last possible moment.

Thank you to my opponent for a challenging and fun game. We should play Wednesday for the second round.

PS I notice the forums still aren't letting me upload the file. That's odd.
