Do I order units for the Command card before or after the Dragon card?
o (RB) A Dragon card action, when played alongside your Command Card, normally is completed prior to ordering units, unless the Dragon card states therwise.
o Current Dragon Card actions that happen before orders are:
- Brave Messenger
- Blue Dragon
- Ninja Assassin
- Ninja Thief
- Red Dragon
- Physician
- Rice Famine
- Tea Ceremony
- Turncoat
First Strike and Ambush
How are the First Strike (Command card) and Ambush (Dragon card) played?
o (RB) The First Strike card is played after your opponent declares a close combat, but before he rolls his dice.
o Your defending unit will battle first.
o If opponent's unit is not eliminated or retreats, it may then battle as originally ordered.
o Your defending unit because it battled first, will not get to battle back after the opponent's unit battles.
o The Ambush card is played after your opponent declares a close combat, but before he rolls his dice.
o Your defending unit will battle first with 1 additional die.
o If opponent's unit is not eliminated or retreats, it may then battle as originally ordered.
o Your defending unit because it battled first, will not get to battle back after the opponent's unit battles.
If a player happens to hold a First Strike card and the Ambush card, may both cards be played against the same attacking unit during a single combat?
o (RB) No - Only one of these cards may be played by the defending unit.
May a First Strike card be played to counter a Ambush card? Or may a Ambush card be played to counter a First Strike card?
o (RB) No - Both the First Strike card and Ambush card are set up to be played by the player when it is not his turn on a unit that is defending.
Dragon Card: Turncoat
If a unit is successfully turned is it also activated?
o (RB) A unit if successfully turned is not activated, the unit must receive an order to activate.
o (RB) A side note about the Turncoat Dragon card. It is incorrect as written, the cost of the card to play should be 3 not 1.
Dragon Card: Strike Fear
Does that card take effect for each close combat the enemy target unit will be involved ?
o (RB) The Strike Fear Dragon card Phase of Play should actually read: "Play before your combat roll"
Dragon Card: Red Dragon
H&F penalty must be paid for retreating units
Dragon Card: Move as Wind
this card increases the movement of infantry units by 1, so that triangle units can move 2 and battle or move 3 and not battle.
