so with just 5 of us, I think a round robin style might be the way to go.
That would mean playing 4 scenarios, each scenario twice (each player playing each side).
Does that seem reasonable to people?

Don't know about people but it certainly seems reasonable to me. I'm looking forward to battling you all! May I suggest a moderately relaxed pace? I suspect the difference of time zones and the busy period imply I'll be mostly available during week-ends.

OK, I've fiddled around with a roster of games, and the way I can make it work with 5 players is to have 5 rounds, and 1 player gets a bye each round.
This creates a scoring problem, since the rounds vary from 4 to 7 banners, so for the purposes of scoring I think I'll vary the scoring method.

So a win is worth 1 point, and if you win against the run of play, an extra point.
What this means is if out of 4 games played in a round there are 3 Red wins and one Yellow win, the Red winners get a point each, and the Yellow winner gets 2 points.
If there are 4 Red wins, each winner gets 1 point.
If there are 2 Yellow and 2 Red wins, each winner gets 1 point.

There is an option here of either single matches or double matches. On the whole I'd prefer double matches (once each way) and have a more extended tournament, but your thoughts.

EDIT: For Double matches, the scoring would be 1 point each win, and a bonus point for a win against run of play (i.e. out of the 8 matches)
