A space platform is not only a strong defensive unit — its ability to strike at long distances makes it a weapon to be reckoned with when deployed!

3 - 3 - 2 - 2 - 1 - 1 • An ordered space platform must remain in its hex to perform combat. If the unit moves it may not perform combat. |
Unit Hit On | |
Hitting a Space Platform | Any hits scored on a space platform must be confirmed to take effect and eliminate the space platform. To confirm a hit, reroll all the dice that scored a hit. On the reroll, a purple square symbol or a blast symbol will confirm the hit and the space platform figure is eliminated. When you eliminate a space platform figure, the space platform's unit marker is taken and placed on your victory stand in your play area. |
Shields & Manoeuvre | • Because of superior shielding, a space platform unit (unit marker with a square symbol) will ignore one blast symbol rolled against it when attacked in combat by all enemy units. • A fighter class unit (unit marker with a circle symbol) does not ignore one blast symbol rolled against it when attacked by a space platform unit (unit marker with a square symbol). |
Notes | • Support Points: When both players wish to deploy a space platform unit, the player with the lower task force card number is the only player that may use support points to purchase the space platform. When task force cards are not being used, a space platform unit cannot be purchased with support points. • Deployment: A space platform marker is not deployed under a faction marker. The space platform marker must be deployed in a hex adjacent to any planet. • Planet Victory Points: When planet control objective rules are in effect a space platform can gain victory points. Although the platform is not directly occupying a planet hex, the platform can still place a faction marker on its own hex at the start of a player's turn. However, if any unit (friend or foe) occupies any hex in the planet group, or an enemy unit is in an adjacent hex to the space platform, these will prevent the platform from placing a faction marker at the start of the player's turn. The faction marker counts as 1 victory point, but note it is placed on the space platform's hex not on the planet. Should the space platform be eliminated during the game, any and all faction markers on the platform's hex are lost and will no longer count towards victory. The faction markers are returned to the faction marker pool. |
Red Alert |
A space platform will disregard all red alerts rolled against it in combat. The platform's ability to disregard all red alerts will override the red alert rules stating a unit must retire when 2 or more red alerts are rolled against a unit in combat. Note: When a meteor strikes a space platform, a red alert marker is placed on the space platform. When a space platform with a red alert marker has a hit and 1 or more red alerts rolled against it in combat, these red alerts are not considered red alerts; these red alerts are instead considered hits. |
