Historical Background
The Commonwealth Alliance has recently completed construction of a space platform near the planet Rigel. The governing body of Rigel has always remained neutral in the struggle between the Commonwealth and Confederation, but with this new development, Rigel has requested Confederation help. The High Council has responded and ordered a Confederation task force to proceed to Rigel and destroy the Commonwealth space platform. The Confederation fleet, arriving near Rigel, finds that the Commonwealth fleet has prepared a trap.

Battle Notes
Victory
21 victory points, or the elimination of 8 opposition.
Special Rules
• Task force cards are used in this scenario. Both faction players draw one card at random.
• Support vessels are purchased in this scenario. Both faction players purchase 40 points of support vessels. The Commonwealth player must, however, purchase and deploy a space platform unit, as shown on the map, for a cost of 12 support points.
• Planet control objective rules are in effect for both factions. One victory point is gained for each unit that occupies a planet hex at the start of the player's turn.
Note: Although the platform is not directly occupying a planet hex, the platform will still gain 1 victory point at the start of the player's turn. Any unit on the planet group or an enemy unit on an adjacent hex, however, will prevent the platform from gaining 1 victory point at the start of the player's turn. The faction marker counts as 1 victory point, but it is placed on the space platform's hex not on the planet. Should the space platform be eliminated during the game, any and all faction markers on the platform's hex are lost and will no longer count towards victory.
