Historical Background
In June 1813, the French army of Joseph Bonaparte and Marshal Jean-Baptiste Jourdan was deployed around Vitoria while the Allied forces under Arthur Wellesley advanced to confront it. The terrain was crossed by several waterways, including the Zadorra River, whose bridges and crossings were of enormous importance for the movement of the armies.
The Allies, composed of British, Spanish, and Portuguese troops, attacked from different directions. The need to cross the Zadorra forced their columns to fight for the available crossings, while the French attempted to hold their positions and contain the enemy advance on the opposite side of the river.
The battle ended in a major Allied victory and the retreat of the French army. The loss of control of the crossings and the pressure exerted on the various French positions contributed to the collapse of their deployment and opened the way to Vitoria.

Special Rules
Both armies can gain a Temporary Group Victory Banner by achieving an absolute majority in control of the three bridges. To determine control, count units occupying the bridge hex and the hexes adjacent to it.
SCENARIO MECHANICS
1. Coordinated Attack
Once per game, when an Order Card activates units in 2 or more sections, the player may grant +1 combat die to the first combat of one unit in each activated section.
2. Sappers
An Infantry unit attacking a unit in melee that is situated on non-clear terrain ignores the combat-dice reductions caused by that terrain.
3. Line Counterattack
When an Infantry unit is eliminated, if there are one or more friendly units adjacent to the enemy unit that eliminated it, the player may choose one of them to immediately conduct a melee attack against the enemy unit that caused the elimination.
4. Spanish Guerrilla
The Spanish Guerrilla token is not active.
