Battle of the Pyramids - 21 July 1798

Historical Background

- The Mamelukes: Use the russian units and rules (except that LN and LT have 4 blocks). However, do NOT roll for Mother Russia before the battle.
- The 3 villages around the entrenched camp of Embabeh are worth 2 Temporary Majority Victory Banners to the side that has them.   The Mameluke starts therefore with 2 VP.
- The Nile River is fordable.
- The French may form square and the square can move 1 hex when ordered. The Mamelukes can not form square.
- Oasis are treated as forest, dunes are treated as hills, camps are treated as windmill.

Optional Rule
At the beginning of each game, roll as many dice as one has cards in hand. The result will simulate losses
and diseases related to the campaign in the desert. Select if this rule are 2 camps or camp alone. We will remove one block for each unit represented
(eg 1 rider on the dice gives 1 loss of a jumper block for a unit).

the map pieces and the battle note pieces do not match.
Am I missing something? Please advise. Mindmill should be windmill.

There is no man more pusillanimous than I when I am planning a campaign. I purposely exaggerate all the dangers and all the calamities that the circumstances make possible. I am in a thoroughly painful state of agitation. This does not keep me from looking quite serene in front of my entourage; I am like an unmarried girl laboring with child. Once I have made up my mind, everything is forgotten except what leads to success.~Napoleon
