Wagram - 5 July 1809 (Gross-Enzersdorf )

Historical Background
Napoleon’s second crossing of the Danube was meticulously planned. He sent Legrand’s division to decoy Charles into thinking that the French intended to cross in the same area as before from the north end of Lobau Island. Charles took the bait and massed his army close to the Danube around Aspern and Essling.
Napoleon then bridged from the south end of Lobau Island and started crossing at 2A.M. under cover of a massive bombardment that inflicted significant casualties on the massed Austrians. When Charles realized he had been outflanked, he rapidly retreated to the Wagram position, leaving the VI Corps and Advance Guard to fight a delaying action. Taking up a defensive position around Gross-Enzersdorf, Nordmann’s Advance Guard began fortifying the village.
As Napoleon’s army deployed on the Marchfeld, Massena’s IV Corps was ordered to push forward and capture Gross-Enzersdorf to allow the advance to continue. Spearheaded by the French light infantry, the French entered the village, where fierce hand-to-hand fighting finally drove out the Austrians.

I consulted Chandler, and then maps of Wagram battle, and I can't see that there are other villages

FML Nordmann, alerted by the French bombardment, formed the Advance Guard to obstruct the French movement. Three battalions occupied Gross-Enzersdorf and the adjacent earthworks, while the brigades of Riese and Mayer formed up behind the village. To ease the congestion as the French began to form their attack lines it became necessary for them to capture this village, providing as it did the pivot on which Napoleon would swing his great army on to the central Marchfeld. In accordance with this, Massena pushed his men forward against the burning buildings. Nordmann opposed this move with IR58 (Beaulieu), who after making some headway were forced back to the village at about 5.00 a.m. An attack spearheaded by 46eme de Ligne ultimately met with success after fierce hand-to-hand fighting among the ruins and earthworks. With the village firmly in French hands, Nordmann fell back to Essling.

My attention has been drawn to some ambivalence around the number of Permanent Victory Banner Objectives for the French.  The map above (and Vassal) shows 4 possible hexes. However, the Special Rules wording might be taken to indicate that its just two hexes due to the placement of the town label "Gross-Enzersdorf". 

After comparing with other scenarios, like Aspern-Essling (Day 1) and noting that all other expansion 3 maps explicitly label all village/town names, I think the above map is correct though the Special Rules could be better worded. Also, the historical wording implies, to me at least, that all four building hexes are part of Gross-Enzersdorf.

Has this question arisen before, I wonder?

A french line unit has won the 5 french medals by destroying two units and occupying 3 hexagones of Gross-Enzersdorf.

Vittoria Austriaca 6-5. Partita sul filo del rasoio. I Francesi iniziano il combattimento cercando di conquistare il villaggio di Gross-Enzersdorf. La difesa austriaca si fa feroce e l'assalto si arresta. I Francesi decidono allora di muovere entrambe le ali ma non ottengono alcun risultato importante. Quando ormai quasi tutto l'esercito francese ha subito perdite gli austriaci contrattaccano e portano a casa la vittoria.

I won Wagram 6-5 as the Austrians by the lucky expedient of killing 1 French unit and staying alive long enough to play 5 Scout cards during the game.

I'm surprised by the fact that there is a 50/50 win rate on this scenario. We played it twice last night and it was 6-1 for the French and then 6-0 for the French. I don't really see how the Austrians can win this one with 4 CC and 3 TC against Massena's 5 CC - 5 TC.
