OT2024 Round 2

Match 1

Togan Alper (Prussians) 4 banners won
Gileforn (French) 9 banners won

It was a nice battle that went a little bit unperdictable. The left Prussian flank was calm the most part of the game. The main battle was at the Prussians right. Good control of the positions made a situation when Prussians had 6 banners and French just one. French troops prepared for the bayonette charge more than half of the game and finally made it with all guards, but with a modest result. This game was a game of total missing. May be weather was not so good and powder has became wet.

Match 2

This game was with less rushes but a lot of positioning. The weather was still bad and sometimes French can't hit at all, but with bayonettes usually all was better. In the middle of the game French army came back and it was a possibility to win, but Prussians were more lucky.

We completed our first game of Laon - French Left

French (Steven) - 4 Banners

The dice started out mediocre for both sides, with single hits being the order of the day. That picked up when the Guard got in melee range, but a failed attack by one guard led to a 3 hit counterattack, and the Prussians finished them and the YG the next turn. This changed the game and the end came when a weakened French infantry assault ran into some good shootin' militia.

Match 1

French went aggressively up their left flank from the start, since this seemed to be the weaker flank. In the end this flank bogged down into squares for both sides, but the capture of Clacy help the French win the village war. 
Ney charged up the centre, where he cut a swathe, but was ultimately stopped by the charging Prussian cavalry. 

At this point the  French right stepped up, with the Lancers doing good things to drive off the artillery, and the Guard, who had sat quietly most of the game conducted a bayonet charge that lifted Prussian  units off the map. 

Tough game despite the score.

A fun game ( at least for the French ). Ney seemed to receive all the Assault, Charge , Forced March and La Grande Manoeuvre cards on offer while the Prussians had to make do with Take Commands. Despite this the block count was dead even, at 37, with neither side controlling the towns at the end. A very hard fought contest and I think we're both looking forward to the rematch.

The Old Guard and the Young Guard assaulted on the French right with a bayonet charge and were met with First Strike and Artillery cannister.
They were soundly defeated. Lancers came to their aid, but all French infantry on that flank were eliminated, their leader fell with them
The Prussians held the villages and traded losses to get the win

Match 2

Prussians win again! This time the Old and Young guard were spectators for the entire battle. 
Heavy fighting erupted around the central village. the battle eventually went in the Prussians favor, with their heavy cavalry charging into the village to kick out the French, with back to back cavalry charges

figth story was along the game ,,scipio get good card but despite with his dice a lot....as the last 2 old guard attack,,11 dice rolled against one Ln and only 3 hit,,,and 5 hit back

Gonzo (French) 9 banners won

Prussians take town on French left. French with great cards and Guard Bayonet assaults on Right flank killing several Prussian units before being bottled up in squares. Then French on French left Bayonet assault and Inf Assault take town and eliminate enough Prussians for the win. Short game and avalanche of French orders finish the Prussians.

Match 2

Gonzo (Prussians) 9 banners won

RJV (French) 8 banners won

French take town on left and prepare to go further but Prussian Counter on a Bayonet attack spoils and each side loses 2 units incl French HC. Absolute drought of French right cards hamper French throughout game, allowing Prussian to hold center and one hex towns. Trading blows with cav in center with French getting the worse of it. Several improbable rolls on both sides. Could have gone either way. 4 point swing for towns telling.
