Welcome here :)

I think C&C:Napoleonics is the best all-round game I've ever played

i complete agree with you. CCN has simple Basics rules to learn and indifferent of this, enough tactics deep, to Play :)
I love most the rule, that in CCN the Units battles with the current block strength, this important different rule to the other C&C games
give me CCN as my absolute favorite CC game too :)

Wouldn't miss the opportunity to say hello as well!
My name is Marcel and I am living in Germany, Frankfurt am Main.
I am a CCN newbie, that is to say a complete CC newbie (no Battle Cry or Memoir or Ancients...so far):)
Bought it (Basic game...have a feeling it does not stop there...good for me, bad for wallet), read the rules, made a first test game, then discovered VASSAL and learnt the game anew ;)
Somehow, now, I got fixed by the game: relatively simple core mechanis, covered by nuances and nuances that reminds me more of a tabletop game. It pushes the "one more game, one more turn"-button quite good. Not the worst thing, IMO. First doubts on the "relatively small" board got swept away swiftly and now, I think, I actually like the game :)

Well, I am around in VASSAL from time to time, playing and trying to watch games and eager to learn.

Moreover, THANKS to all making this awesome webpage, modules, extensions and scenarios and the continuous updating.

Happy gaming!

Hi!

My name is José, from Saragossa, Spain.

I've been active on Vassal for some time already, and after getting to know C&C The ancients, was introduced to Napoleonics and decided to go ahead and purchase the game. Soon after followed the 3 expansions

I think this is a very great game, and coming from a tabletop miniature gaming background, I really appreciate the relative simplicity of the rules, yet how they give you a feel for the style of warfare they portray.

Also, this website and the community supporting it add a lot of value to the game.

Good gaming!

Dear Jose,

Welcome to the wonderful world of CCN! The game plays well with 15mm miniatures too.

I play on Vassal by email against opponents in Italy, Austrailia and the US. If you want to play, please message me.

You will have an advantage of being able to tour the actual battlefields, while I can only read about them.

Hello all, looks like this has turned out to be the welcome wagon thread so I suppose I shall introduce myself here as well.

My name's Harry. I currently attend a university in the southern United States.
I've been into boardgames of the military sort since 8th grade when I first came upon Warhammer 40000. I don't play that but I do like to play other games (namely those that don't cost an arm and a leg and then some to play!).

It's a bit difficult to find people to play games like C&C:N at the university I'm going to but I'm looking forward to playing this game with you all over VASSAL in the future!

I'm Mark in Madison, Wisconsin USA (hence the username, which I also use at BGG).

I bought C&C:A when it first came out in 2006 to play with my son, but realized it was probaly too complex for him at the time as he was 9 years old, so I got Memoir '44 instead & we played that on & of a couple years. This summer we finally took C&C:A off the shelf & after the stickering marathon, played maybe half a dozen times. Going online to look at the expansions, I discovered the existence of C&C:N. My son (now 17) is very active in Mount & Blade online line battles, and has become keenly interested in Napoleonic era warfare as a result, so this was a bit of a no-brainer to buy as well, and when I saw a good deal on the base game *plus* all three current expansions on BGG Marketplace -- and just as attractive as the price, already stickered! (though for some reason the original owner only put stickers on ONE side of each block, sigh) -- I jumped.

We just played our first game last night, the intro scenario. Many more to come!?!
