Yes, this was a great game. Central to the combat was the British wall of fire on receiving the incoming waves versus the french maneuvreability, which in the end proved to be the determining factor. The Allies had limited command abilities with a very left flank centered hand. The temporary VPs on the map helped the french, who took a beating, as is seen in the lost block ratio. Allies would have won if the final roll with 2 dice against a single INF would have scored a hit. Very tight and enjoyable gameasyncritus wrote: Round 2 - 503 Sorauren - French left (28 July 1813)

Extremely close game. Allies jumped out to an early lead as the French threw themselves against the hill. They were finally able to root out the Spanish and thanks to the help of Sappers, take the town of Arleta. The British were able to regain control of the hill, and then launched an offensive strike on the left flank, pushing the French all the way back to the baseline. The French performed La Grande Maneuver to reinforce Spanish hill with some fresh troops including artillery, cancelling the British majority. They were then able eliminate a British unit to gain the majority. Meanwhile, the Brits (with help from the Portuguese) continued to press the attack on the left flank, hoping to score two more banners for the win. Unfortunately, this left them out of position to be able to reinforce Spanish Hill, and they came up 1 hit short. The French claimed the last two banners they needed by maintaining the majority position on Spanish Hill. Without a doubt, the best CCN game I've ever played.
