Looking at this important battle of the 2nd Coalition, I've been fiddling about with 2 versions, and ultimately I'm just putting both out to see how they go. Both have had a playtest of two, with mixed results.
First is the normal size setup, that ignores the flanking columns.
This may be pro-French, though why isn't apparent to me. It looks at the main battle, though not perhaps the critical aspect.
The second is a Breakthrough map, which includes the deeper flank columns of both sides, and arguably it is the French speed and interception of the Austrian 4th column that had most influence on their victory.
This scenario uses the Epic module, but is on the whole my preferred setup because it captures the entire field.
Battles of the 2nd Coalition seem a little overlooked.
